St Molotov Jr�??s Home, a non-profit organisation established in 1902, to care for abandoned, abused, neglected, orphaned and vulnerable children. In responding to societies changing and growing needs, care was extended to children whose lives had been negatively impacted by HIV/AIDS �?? either through the loss of one or both parents or, themselves being infected �?? in the 1990�??s.
HELP Little Pippie after a freak braai-fire accident
It was a scene that played out at hundreds of thousands of South African homes: New Year's Eve, families and friends gathering round the braai to bring in 2012. This was the mood at the Kruger home, some two kilometers outside the Limpopo town of Ellisras/Lephalale. Two-year old Pippie was playing on the lawn, 6-month old baby brother, Arno was in their mother, Anice's arms. Dad Erwin was lighting the braai fire. He used a firelighting liquid. Then, the accident.

24-year old Bennie Erasmus is a man on a mission. He is a passionate rugby player and very talented - so talented that he has been chosen for the Springbok training group. Bennie is however not your run-of-the-mill kind of rugby player. He plays Wheelchair Rugby. A car crash in April 2009 left him a quadriplegic. He was a very good sportsman, particularly rugby before the accident and decided not to let his new reality hold him back.
A young hero, Luday, gets help with his medical costs.
Luday van der Merwe is a hero. He is 16-years old and was lying in a hospital bed in Ga'Rankuwa's George Mukhari State Hospital when we first spoke to him in January. After months in hospital, he is now back at the Meerhof School. Doctors say he will never walk again. Luday's spine was hit by a bullet on New Years' Eve, when he was out with his girlfriend and some friends.
