Helping little Tiffany and her family heal - Repeat.
Two-year old Tiffany Malan has been in hospital more than not this past year. She was diagnosed with a big tumor behind her left eye in April - and by May she had lost the eye. It was not the end for young parents, Stephanie and Dewald Malan's little princess - she's received five different kinds of chemo since - and by the look of things, its still not the end for her.
Good Day Angels,
I am Charmaine Booysen and my cousin’s little girl has PNET cancer. Her name is Tiffany Malan and she is now 2 years & 3 months. She was diagnosed with this cancer in April this year and due to a big tumor behind her left eye, her left eye had to be removed on 24th May 2013. She is the daughter of Stephanie and Dewald Malan.
She has been getting 5 different types of chemo this year and this would have been her last week of chemo, but the doctors advised Stephanie that she has to continue with it until she is 3 years old, where after they will start radiation. This was very bad news for Stephanie as little Tiffany has not been to school or even had the opportunity to play with some of her friends as she is in hospital every second week.
They don’t have a medical aid so all medical expenses are covered by the government as she gets all her chemo in Johannesburg General Hospital, but there are many other expenses that need to be covered as her mother is also not working currently as there is no way for her to work in this kind of situation. There is no one else that can take care of little Tiffany and she is still on nappies and drinking bottle.
I would like to ask you from the bottom of my heart if you will please consider helping this family with a holiday when possible. Both parents are exhausted and this has really been a very difficult year for them. After everything that has happened to them, little Tiffany still smiles for ‘n photo.
She got chemo again yesterday and the sister at the hospital didn’t put the drip in correctly and then some of the chemo went into little Tiffany’s arm.
They are currently still at hospital. There is also a facebook page for Tiffany Malan if you would like to see everything.
I have enclosed some pics for your records.
Thanking you in advance
