Isak Dada's community is in turmoil after a fire.
We hear the reports every winter. Shack fires, that spread through entire communities, destroying homes and taking lives. Last month, this happened in the Princess Park community in Roodepoort on the East Rand, when at least 40 shacks were reduced to rubble.
One of those who lost everything in the fire, is Izak Mdala. He's the local pastor in the community. He has also been working as a gardener for the Schoeman-family for years. His employer, Gerrit Schoeman asked Good Morning Angels to help the community. The homes have since been rebuilt, but the community church, which was also damaged and gave refuge to the poorest of the poor, is still in ruin ...

To whom it may concern,
Our family gardener's house and his church was burnt down (he is also their Meruti - pastor), after a fire started in their informal settlement at about 2am 8 July 2012 (Please refer to the Roodepoort Record dated 13 July 2012 page 3). Isak and his 5 children were lucky to escape the fire as they lived next to the 'house' where the fire started and subsequently lost all their belongings in the fire.
We as a family are trying as best we can to help and support them and have even arranged a Wendyhouse for them (we are still making arrangements to transport it there).
Despite our best efforts we can only provide relief to one of the affected families and close to 50 home's were destroyed by this fire.
All of these people (including Isak and his family), lost not only their homes but all of their clothes and other possessions. We were wanting to ask whether Good Morning Angels can please assist these people in any way possible.
They would be truly grateful and appreciative of the assistance.
We can also provide Good Morning Angel with photos and a contact number for one of their residents.
