Cathrine Sepato's orphange gets new rooms.
Catherine Sepato took the plight of homeless, orphaned or abused children in Hammanskraal upon herself and started a safe house and orphanage "Tshwaranang Orphan House" ten years ago. She performs her selfless service on donor funds alone and still, she would like to help even more children.
Besides the day-to-day necessities and consumables, Catherine desperately needs more space. This would also help her to secure some funds from the state. Annalie Lewis from the NG Church Magallieskruin has been helping Catherine as part of her church's outreach program and asked Good Morning Angels to find some help.
WATCH: The story of Catherine and the Tshwaranang Orphan House this Sunday at 8:55 and 17:55 on "Vat My Hand" sponsored by Builders Warehouse on Kyknet, DSTV channel 111
The Tshwaraganang Orphan House is a secure home for underprivileged and abused orphans between the ages of 3 months, up to 18 year, who have no-one else to take care of them. Catharine Sepato is a wonderful selfless woman, who started this home 10 years ago to look after children that have no home, that were abused or raped at home and taken away from their parents. Some were just left in a shack without food and water, to die! She gives these kids a home again where they can belong.
Catherine tries her utmost to give the children a safe home, clean clothes and 3 meals a day, but she has no help from the state and must feed and look after all this kids out of private donations. More than 10 children sleep in a small room, some on beds and others only on mattresses.
Catherine tries to get help from the State, but they say she cannot accommodate any more kids for the rooms she has. She needs to build at least two more rooms with toilets and showers to accommodate the extra children. There are a lot more requirements and needs, but the extra rooms are of the utmost important at this stage. More beds, mattresses and cupboards are also a big need.
There is also a need for a secure room where the smaller children can be kept busy during the day, like a nursery school.
Then last, but the most important aspect of being involved in this project, is prayer! The kids need prayer, love and attention to heal from the trauma they went through, some at such a young age. They always smile, look after each other and are very happy whenever some of the donators come to visit!
Any help from anyone would be much appreciated n this community project!
I trust that you will look favorably at the attached proposal.
SPONSORING: General Motors South Africa created GM Child Life foundation to look after underprivileged children through the GM Dealerships nationally. As a dealership in the north of Pretoria we visited the orphanage in Hammanskraal and proposed it as a worthy project. With the help of GM ChildLife Foundation, we will pay R 262 000,00 for two extra rooms that can accommodate 6 bunk beds with a full ablution block with 4 toilets, 4 shower and 4 basins with its own septic tank. Hopefully this is the first of at least a 4 faze building project. We will still need bunk beds, bedding (pillows, blankets, duvets etc), curtains and lockers for the clothes.
