Young Donovan Swibe gets a wheelchair (GMA).
Compass is a non-profit organisation with the aim of giving shelter, dignity and a second chance to those who have nothing. Mostly, these are women with children who've been left destitute due to circumstances. Compass has three houses and are building a fourth as they cannot keep up with the need.
They don;t merely give shelter, they also try to uplift residents to enable them to learn skills, so that they can find jobs and be self-sufficient again. One of the families in their care consists of a father, a mother and two and a half year old son, Donovan. The family has no where to go and their son has severe cerebral palsy. Besides the normal basics, Donovan needs a wheel chair as well as treatment, medication and therapy that would have to be outsourced from the Compass group. The Round Table Pretoria, has heeded this call for help from Compass for little Donovan and will help with funds raised from their annual Round Table Theatre Shows. Read more on the Round Table and their Shows on www.rtt.org.za
See Donovan's story on "Vat my Hand", Channel 111 on DSTV this Sunday 8:55 and 17:55.
SPONSORING: The Round table will contribute R 12 000,00 towards getting Donovan his special wheel chair as well as R 13 000,00 towards his future medical and therapy care - that's a total contribution of R 25 000,00 towards Donovan's medical needs.
I hope and trust that all is well. I trust that you have had a fantastic Christmas and New Year. Now with the New Year lying ahead of us we are trying to get these children sponsored with their school things that they will be needing. Especially the little ones with their daily needs like the milk, nappies etc. Please could we rely on you to assist us with these children? I'm hoping that you will take a few minutes to go through our latest updates. Hoping for your positive response.
We are running an Emergency Sponsorship Project for the children we care for. We don‚??t get any form of assistance from the State (Government), that is why we rely on Companies such as yours for assistance to keep our babies and children in a loved and cared for enviroment. We find ourselves in dire straits and on a survival level having to depend on your generosity.
We care for approximately 151 mothers, babies and children, aged between new born - 17 years that are from abused & abandoned, terminally ill, and impoverished and previously disadvantaged backgrounds in all three our homes. We are in the process of opening a fourth home, reason being our homes are full and we don't want to send any one asking for assistance away. Whereby with your help we can create and provide food security; education; a place of safety; a stimulating, empowering, nurturing and uplifting environment for them.
I would like to appeal to your heart to assist me with a sponsorship for 27 of the babies at the amount of R1700.00 per child, which will sustain and help us look after a baby for a period of 3 months. I will provide you with the necessary documents to claim this money back 100%. Please help us to keep our vision for these children alive. The amount required will cover firstly the housing, the feeding, clothing, the beds we need, and medically aiding, as well as educating a child for that amount of time.
Any assistance you can give will be most gratefully appreciated. Hoping for your favorable consideration.
All relevant documentation is attached. Any sponsorship(s) made to the organization is 100% tax deductible as we attain a Section 18A, as well as a BEE Accreditation(more than 75%) for your rating and scoring.
