Helping Ruan Erasmus after a childhood disease
Perthe's Disease is a condition that affects mostly young boys, between the ages of 5 and 12 years. Over a period of weeks, the blood-flow to the ball of the hip-joint is cut off, which leads to this joint growing out deformed.
This often leads to hip replacement in young adulthood, but in Ruan's case, the damage was so severe, that he needs both hips to be replaced as a teenager. This condition causes immense pain and in Ruan's case, walking unassisted has become impossible. His mother has been on a medical aid for 9 month, but because this condition is considered to be preexisting, the very expensive operation is not covered. Our sponsors and very dear Good MOrning Angels friends, the Round Table has chosen to assist Ruan.
SPONSOR: The Round table will contribute a most generous R45 000,00 to Ruan's hip-replacement operation costs
