Sasol is committed to job creation and sustaining successful entrepreneurs. Through our Corporate Social Investment, we have partnered with the Govan Mbeki Municipality and Vukuzenzele Protective Workshop for the Disabled to sustain the organisation‚??s need for physical stimulation of the people through various activities, while simultaneously providing the group with economic empowerment and income generation.
The need arose when the group required a protective environment for stimulation and Sasol provided the group with mentorship and financial security while the municipality provided a revamped municipal building.
The activities that the Protective Workshop specialises in include beading, painting, embroidery and fence making, all which play essential roles during the stimulation process.
Vukuzenzele Protective Workshop for the Disabled is a non-government organisation that has 65 beneficiaries, who all come from the Emzinoni and surrounding areas in Bethal. Through this initiative, the founder has successfully opened a shop where their products are sold to the public.
Sasol made a positive change within an underdeveloped community and have sustained the disabled community residing in Bethal through skills and development.
